Urban Salt started in 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic shook up the restaurant industry. Food service workers became scarce as they quit or found new careers, leaving  a void in the local culinary scene. Seeing an opportunity to provide a service to the community, Urban Salt was created in order to fill the need for good cooks, chefs and other industry workers "on the fly".

Founded by local Chefs, Urban Salt provides a variety of services, the most popular being the Mercenary Chef Collective. We service the entire Capital District area, as well as clients in NYC, Boston, Provincetown, and various other locations.
